Have you ever wondered what a great threat a superhero could become to modern terrorism if his power was directly linked to the gravity of ‘Chanda Mama’? On one hand, the biggest dream of India’s progress is the ‘Setu Samudram Project’, and on the other hand, there is a ‘split bomb’ which is ready to blow the metro city apart brick by brick. This masterpiece of Raj Comics takes us to a world where ‘high-tech’ science, not magic, is the real hero.

Will India’s biggest maritime dream be lost to a ‘split bomb’?

The story begins not with a gust of cold air, but with the smell of gunpowder. The Government of India is going to write a new chapter in maritime trade through ‘Project Setu Samudram’. But international extremist organizations do not like this. They know that if this project is successful, India will not only become economically strong but will also become impenetrable in terms of national security. To turn this dream into a heap of ashes, a trap has been laid from which it seems impossible to escape.

That dreadful ‘death trap’ of the ‘split bomb’, where one mistake means turning the metro city into a crematorium!

Writer Tarun Kumar Wahi has presented a villain in this comics who does not come forward, but attacks with his ‘technology’. Terrorists have used ‘split bombs’ (Split Bomb). The specialty of this bomb is its biggest terror: it has two parts. One is fitted in a car and the other in a helicopter. The rule is that if the distance between these two falls below 3 kilometers, the whole city will be blown away with a big bang. Bomb disposal squad expert Mr. Tabande’s hands start trembling because here the challenge is not with timers, but with the rules of physics.

Super Indian’s ‘Moon-Power’ incarnation: When gravity became the greatest weapon against death!

When the police and commandos kneel down, Super Indian (Aman) descends from the sky. He is different from the rest of the heroes in Raj Comics, as his powers are powered by the Moon. The most hair-raising scene in this comics is when Super Indian uses the power of the Moon to lift that ‘bombed car’ into the air without touching it. He controls gravity so that the car is protected from ground shocks. This not only shows his strength but also proves how ‘sharp’ his mind is.

That ‘bloody’ lesson from Doga: “Don’t kill the criminal, uproot him!”

There is a huge ‘Easter Egg’ for Doga fans in this comics. Super Indian mentions ‘Doga Chacha’ at one point while remembering his past. He says that he learned his martial arts and ‘merciless’ technique of dealing with criminals from Doga. Doga had taught him that if you cut only the branches of the problem, it will arise again; therefore, it is necessary to root out the culprit. This is the reason why Super Indian behaves in this comics not as a calm hero, but as an aggressive warrior who does not hesitate to cut off the hands of terrorists.

Miss Sweaty and Mr. Tabande: Unsung Heroes of Metro City who perform their ‘duty’ even in the shadow of death!

The life of the comics resides in its supporting characters. Miss Sweaty is not just a reporter; she is a symbol of today’s fearless journalism that does not care about her life in the pursuit of ‘live footage’. On the other hand, Mr. Tabande’s character teaches us that—”the captain of a ship never runs away from the ship.” Death is standing in front of him, the car is filled with RDX, but Tabande tries to defuse that bomb until his last breath. The bravery of these characters makes Super Indian an even bigger ‘hero’.

Lalit Sharma’s brush and Sunil Pandey’s colors: A storm of high-tech action descending on the pages!

Talking about the artwork, Lalit Sharma has done wonders. Metro City skyscrapers, airborne helicopters and Super Indian’s ‘blue-tone’ muscular body—his panels feel like movie shots. Sunil Pandey’s coloring has given so much depth to high-tech gadgets and blasts that the reader cannot believe his eyes. The action scenes within the gutters, in particular, and Super Indian’s jumps from skyscrapers are excellent examples of visual art.

‘Thermographic Eyes’ and ‘Micro-Implex Radar’: Is Super Indian a human being or a mobile supercomputer?

The gadgets that Super Indian has make him a hero who can compete with Iron Man. He has ‘thermographic eyes’ that can see through the debris. When a building is razed to the ground, he catches the heartbeat of the last survivor buried under the debris with his ‘micro-implex radar’. This is a confluence of technology and bravery that is rarely seen in Indian comics. He does not just use his muscles, but relies on data and calculations every step of the way.

Why is “Project Setu Samudram” called the ‘world-class’ avatar of Indian comics?

Overall, “Project Setu Samudram” is a comics that makes you think that Indian superheroes have now moved from ‘magic’ to a level of ‘science fiction’ where they can give tough competition to Marvel or DC. This story is a great blend of nationalism, courage and modern science.

Final Verdict: If you want to read a ‘futuristic’ combo of Doga’s rough-and-tough style and Dhruv’s intelligence, then this Super Indian comics must be in your collection. It will not disappoint you, but will thrill you on every page.
