When the Shield Became a Burden and Tiranga Began Hiding

In the silence of the night, a shadow was running through the streets of Delhi. That shadow, which was once a ray of hope for helpless people, was today itself seeking shelter in the darkness. That glorious symbol with three colours, the ‘tricolor’, was shining on his chest, but the face hidden behind his mask was not that of an angel, but that of Hindustan’s biggest enemy, ‘Swax’.

Tiranga, whom we know as Abhay Pratap Mehra, was today trapped in a dilemma where his every breath was making him look like a criminal. The villain RDX had laid out such a chessboard on which the pieces belonged to Tiranga himself, but every move meant death. Today’s blog is not just a story, but the pain of every truthful person whose honesty has been tarnished by time.

Satan’s Blueprint: Who Is RDX?

Before we talk about Abhay’s tears, we have to understand the shadow that created this whole game—RDX.

Name and identity: RDX is not an ordinary criminal, but the face of international terrorism, which has no face of its own. He is called the ‘uncrowned king of explosives’.

Powers and intelligence: RDX’s greatest strength is not his physical power, but his ‘psychological warfare’ (mental warfare). He knows that killing a superhero would make him immortal, so he attacks his ‘soul’ and ‘image’.

Specialty: He specializes in plastic surgery and biotechnology. He breached India’s security system through the ‘X-File’. He has his own army of ‘Blue Men’, ready to put anyone to death without emotion.

Motive: His aim is not just to gain power, but to spread chaos. He wants the public to hate its defenders and a civil war to break out within the country.

His conspiracy against Tiranga was the cruellest. He replaced Tiranga’s face with the face of a terrorist, making the patriot Abhay himself ‘X’ in the eyes of the law.

A Stranger in His Own Home: When His Sister’s Hatred Tore His Heart

The most painful twist in the story comes when Abhay steps over the threshold of his own house, carrying proof of his innocence and trembling with fear. He hoped that the world might reject him, but his sister Shikha would read the truth in his eyes.

But fate had something else in store. As Abhay stepped into the house, Shikha’s eyes held no love for him, but the fear and hatred reserved for a traitor. Shikha shouted, “Go away, terrorist! How dare you use my brother Abhay’s name?”

Abhay had extended his arms to hug her, but in return, he received a powerful kick. That scene is one of the most emotional scenes in the history of Tiranga—a brother lies fallen on the ground, his mask is half open, and he is unable to tell his sister that the man she thinks is ‘X’ is actually her protective brother. The thoughts going through Tiranga’s mind at that moment could melt even a stone-hearted person: “O Mother India! Is this the result of my service? The sister for whom I took thousands of bullets is the one pushing me out of her house today.”

Where to Hide My Face: The Scary Truth Behind the Mask

The Police Commissioner was lying in a hospital bed. He was like a guide and father figure to Tiranga. Abhay arrived there in the hope that perhaps the Commissioner could help him. But RDX had set the trap so firmly that posters of ‘X’ (Swax) were everywhere, and they all bore Abhay’s face.

When Tiranga saw himself in the mirror, he started hating himself. That face, which once radiated the light of honesty, now displayed the wrinkles and cruelty of a criminal. It was not just plastic surgery, but the murder of Abhay’s entire existence. He was running through the streets while police vehicles followed him. The police officers who once saluted him were today ordered to shoot him on sight.

Abhay’s words at that moment shake the reader to the core—“I am Tiranga, I am a patriot… But this face? This face testifies to betrayal. If I take off this mask, I will die, and if I keep it on, I will die moment by moment, bit by bit.”

Rahim Kaka’s Blanket: The Light of Humanity Hidden in Blindness

When the whole world turned its back on Tiranga, he found shelter with a blind fakir, Rahim Kaka. Rahim Kaka could not see, so he could not see Abhay’s ‘criminal face’. He only heard the pain hidden in Abhay’s voice and the yearning of his soul.

Rahim Kaka gave Abhay an old and torn blanket. That torn blanket saved Tiranga’s honour, which even his steel shield could not save. Abhay covered himself with that blanket and lived like a beggar on the streets. That scene symbolized that when the law and society are blind, only one true heart can recognize another true heart. While hiding beneath that blanket, Abhay kissed his shield with tears in his eyes and swore that he would end RDX’s game, even if he had to give up his life.

Tiranga’s Final Attack on RDX’s Empire

As the story progresses towards its end, Tiranga’s pain turns into a raging fire. He understands that to defeat RDX, he must kill the ‘Abhay’ inside him and fight solely as ‘Tiranga’. He stops worrying about his identity and attacks RDX’s secret base, where factories of explosives and hatred were operating.

RDX had stationed his ‘Super Men’ and machine army there. But that day, Tiranga’s shield was not made merely of iron; it was made from the faith of crores of Indians and the strength of his sister’s tears. Tiranga trapped RDX in his own trap. He presented all the evidence to the world that proved that RDX was behind the altered faces of ‘Swax’ and ‘Abhay’.

Amid the noise of that terrible war, as RDX’s bombs were exploding, Tiranga’s roar could be heard—“RDX, you have changed my face, not my blood! And my blood is still indebted to this soil.”

An Incomplete Victory and a Deep Wound

At the end of the story, Tiranga got his real face back, his innocence was proven, and Shikha hugged her brother. But did everything really go back to normal?

Tiranga no longer had that old sparkle in his eyes. He had learned that no matter how sacred the truth hidden beneath the mask was, the world believed only in outward appearance and form. RDX was sent behind bars, but before leaving, he left behind a question—“Tiranga, today I changed your face; tomorrow, I will change the thinking of this country. Where, then, will you hide your shield?”

‘Where to Hide a Face’ is an immortal story from Raj Comics that tells us that a hero’s biggest fight is not to protect his identity from outside enemies, but to protect his identity itself. Tiranga still stands with his shield, but the wounds on his heart caused by RDX’s conspiracy are still fresh.
